Tom Became President and CEO of DataSafe in 1986. He joined the company in 1978 as Controller and then served as Vice President of Operations.
Tom believes that records management companies should not strive to simply provide a commodity service, but to become an extension of their client's organization.
Tom envisions the records management industry will soon use document imaging for nearly all accesses. He has positioned DataSafe at the forefront of imaging not only to save clients money and time, but to ensure it is part of a comprehensive records management scenario.
Tom has been on the board of the Data Processing Management Association (DPMA), a member of The Executive Committee (TEC) and the Business Advisory Council (BAC).
Tom was on the PRISM International board (Professional Records & Information Services Management) from 1991 to 1993 and coordinated the association's publication of the first commercial record center industry rack/shelving guidelines in the Spring of 1991. He has been a PRISM International seminar leader in several conferences on a variety of topics, including financial reporting, sales compensation plans, targeting profitable sales, succession planning, disaster recovery, and ISO 9000.
Tom received his BA in Psychology from Middlebury College in Vermont and his MBA from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. He also earned his Certified Public Accountant certificate with Haskins and Sells (now Deloitte & Touche.)
Rob Reis, elder son of Tom Reis, joined DataSafe as a full-time employee in May 2005 as the Operations Manager for the Vital Records facilities. In 2008, he was promoted to Vice President. Rob had previously been employed by DataSafe on a part-time basis for over 10 years as a summer employee. During that period, he worked in all operating departments and assisted in computer conversions in 1998 and 2001.
Prior to joining DataSafe as a full-time employee, Rob earned a B.A. at Middlebury College, Middlebury, Vermont, with a double major in Economics and Psychology, and an MBA at Golden Gate University, San Francisco, with a concentration in Finance. He was employed for two years as an Assistant Buyer at the headquarters of Beverages and More (BevMo!), where he also assisted in planning the openings of several new retail stores.
Debra Pierce joined DataSafe in 1993 as the Client Service Manager and was quickly promoted to the Director of Operations. In 2004, Debra took on her current role as Vice President of Corporate Services.
Debra came to DataSafe with over 15 years of experience in the airline industry, where she managed numerous Alaska Airlines customer operations facilities throughout the United States. Debra also worked with several independent records management companies in the implementation and conversion of various software systems.
Jackie Wong joined DataSafe in May 2014 as Controller. In this role, he oversees the company's accounting and facilities functions. Jackie came to DataSafe with over 20 years accounting/finance experience in accounting operations, budgeting, financial analysis, project management and process improvements.
Jackie's career has primarily been in the banking, credit union, entertainment and new media industries, having filled the roles of Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, Vice President of Finance and Financial Controller. Prior to DataSafe, Jackie has worked at Tai Seng Entertainment, Cal State 9 Credit Union and Patelco Credit Union, all in the San Francisco Bay Area. He earned his B.S. in Business Administration/Accounting from the University of Houston.
Amy Magni began working for DataSafe in 2009 as a Human Resources Generalist. She was promoted to Human Resources Manager and then in 2016, to the Director of Corporate Services. She currently oversees the Human Resources and Client Services Departments. Before joining DataSafe, Amy worked in Human Resources for a private aviation company and for a National retail chain.
Jose Moreno began working for DataSafe in 2000 as a Records Center Attendant for DataSafe's Palo Alto facility and moved into the IT world in November 2001 as PC Support Specialist. From there, Jose held various positions in the IT Department and was promoted to IT Project Manager in 2007. Before joining DataSafe, Jose was the IT Manager for a government agency for six years and a math teacher in Mexico for four years. Jose was promoted to Director of Information Technology in 2010.
Scott Reis, younger son of Tom, joined DataSafe as a full time employee in 2007 as a Client Services Representative. In 2008, Scott was promoted to Client Services Supervisor and in 2009 he was promoted to Client Services Manager. Scott gained further knowledge of the company’s operations in 2010 when he became Operations Manager overseeing the operations at DataSafe’s headquarters in the South San Francisco facility. In 2012, Scott was promoted to Manager of Client Relations where he focused his time growing DataSafe’s client base in both the Solano and Sacramento markets. In June of 2015, Scott was promoted to Director of Sales and is currently overseeing all sales efforts and client relationships in all markets of operation. Prior to joining DataSafe, Scott spent extensive time in the hospitality industry as a Concierge, Front Desk Manager and Food and Beverage Purchasing agent at a well know hotel in the Boston area.
